Donald Trump wants regime change in Venezuela. The last time the US invaded a Latin American country was in Panama, in 1989, killing hundreds and displacing thousands. Even afterwards, Panama was destabilized. In todayβs NYT, I argue an invasion of Venezuela would be far worse.
