So today, we put up signs around The Post's D.C. office calling this out.
We need your support! Tell The Washington Post you stand with tech workers against union busting and illegal layoffs!

Meet the union busters of The Washington Post!
Instead of following the law, Post management is pressuring Tech Guild members to accept defeat as they attempt to illegally lay off almost 30% of our unit (including most of our leadership team and bargaining committee).
After decimating the organization, we are bargaining per our contract with management. We have featured testimonials from Post employees. Hereβs some of them had to say. Hereβs what these layoffs have done to us. #SaveThePost π§΅

We all want to Save The Post, want to do our jobs - but Vineet locked our members out of work platforms and the building this week.
Shame on Vineet.
This is despicable. After attempting to lay off almost 80 of our members illegally, The Post's Chief Technology Officer Vineet Khosla has tried to co-opt the #SaveThePost hashtag used by Tech Guild and @postguild members, community members, readers, and supporters to push back against these cuts.

When they came to work yesterday - to continue the jobs they were hired to do - they were blocked from entering the building. Our members are still employees. We are in Status Quo, which means that these layoffs are illegal.
11.02.2026 16:39 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Monday night after working hours, our members who are being targeted for layoffs by The Washington Post were locked out of their work devices, platforms and The Post building.
11.02.2026 16:39 β π 8 π 8 π¬ 2 π 0The public outcry has been clear: the people of D.C., the country and the world at large want the Washington Post at its full journalistic power and will accept nothing less.
08.02.2026 00:11 β π 18 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0The Post must now reverse course on violating the rights of their workers with illegal layoffs. CTO Vineet Khosla and Arc XP President Matt Monahan need to also be held accountable for their lack of courage and bad faith.
08.02.2026 00:11 β π 16 π 5 π¬ 1 π 0From the office to his own neighborhood, where on Thursday the Tech Guild posted fliers calling out his abysmal record as CEO and Publisher to demand accountability, we have been clear about the damage he caused.
08.02.2026 00:11 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0The Washington Post cannot move forward under the leadership that caused this crisis. Will Lewisβs decisions drove the Post to this breaking point.

Today we marched to engineering management's offices to deliver our unanswered questions about a tool the company is evaluating that would stack rank employees, violating status quo & disrespecting our union.
We wonβt back down when they violate our rights and then ignore our concerns.
We stand with our Post Guild colleagues in condemning the unjust firing of Opinion Columnist Karen Attiah. Itβs both dangerous and self-defeating to take away authoritative strong voices. The Washington Post Tech Guild stands with Karen and will continue to show up for her rights. No one fights alone
16.09.2025 18:16 β π 12 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0The right to speak freely is the ultimate personal liberty and the foundation of Karenβs 11-year career at The Post. Weβre proud to call Karen a colleague and a longtime union sibling. The Post Guild stands with her and will continue to support her and defend her rights.
15.09.2025 18:55 β π 1983 π 269 π¬ 26 π 4The Washington Post wrongly fired Opinions columnist Karen Attiah over her social media posts. The Post not only flagrantly disregarded standard disciplinary processes, it also undermined its own mandate to be a champion of free speech.

Today we took a collective lunch break along with our siblings @postguild.bsky.social!
The Post unilaterally decided to make us return to the office 5 days a week, so we convened for lunch to share how this policy is impacting our members. We are united! β
We will begin immediately formulating plans and laying the groundwork within the unit to begin bargaining with the company for its first collective bargaining agreement. But first, we celebrate!
23.05.2025 20:46 β π 31 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Even after weeks of aggressive union-busting tactics from management, we persevered and now are able to say that we were a part of the first successful organizing effort to take place at The Post under Jeff Bezosβ ownership - thatβs history!
