Added together, Sunderland's Premier League points totals in 2002/03 (19) and 2005/06 (15) would not have been enough to save them from relegation in either campaign.

I have to say I think I prefer this year to last, when the team went three games in a row without scoring and scored own goals in back to back games before that.

It feels like the appropriate time of year to remind anyone concerned about pre-season results that Leicester City drew 1-1 at Mansfield Town the summer before they won the Premier League.
