In researching pre-Christian Celtic myth for a game idea rn & man this kinda shit really did just keep coming up huh??

Long story short, the magnetron was noted to emit a type of wave that the scientists hadn't accounted for yet, one which had the unusual property of putting off heat as waste, not rads.

They started making chambers to bombard stuff with "micro-waves', & once they knew it was safe, they patented it!

Youre correct, but theres one little detail you left out that's especially funny. A scientist at MIT walked next to a megnetron with a chocolate bar in his pocket. He didnt expect it to be of any harm, & it wasnt, but a chocolate bar in his pocket melted without him feeling hot at all.

One of my fav overbaked examples, this classic from Gundam Wing, in the Wing itself. Top-center screen is fine, derived from fighter jet HUDs, then you have TWO huge telemetry readouts with so much tiny text, then 2 more screens of packed text, & finally the Vectors Orb, for pondering your vectors.

It really is incredible that, in a game so laser-focused around squad play, they still managed to balance the Shells so that each of them, barring maybe Vandal & Destoyer at low faction upgrade levels, is absolutely viable solo.

I just realized I never bothered to see if one Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg played by Gary Oldman appears in the game at all and I am happy to report that he is and I'm here to rectify that omission with a few more screenshots.

If they're depicted, it's for the purpose of villainizing them, or else subverting that villianization deliberately. I think both are valid reasons, if done well.

The Lust Problem is what I have issues with. All other personifications are DOERS of the sin, not provokers, so Lust shouldn't be sexy.

Christian demons are inversions of pagan gods (often literally so), so doing this is just an obvious way of doing spiritual propaganda. The demon that makes you slothful is a lazy slob, the demon who makes you wrathful is itself alwaus irrationally angry, etc etc.

I REALLY wanted to like Tarkov, but it's so unflinchingly, constantly callous, up to happily bankrupting you within less than 10 hours as a newbie, that I just couldnt hack it. I was terrified to lose ANYTHING, even starter guns, & it made sure I never got anywhere but onto a downward spiral.

Ive been mulling over why it has its hooks in me like Tarkov, Hunt, et al. never did, & it's this!

It's closest to Tarkov, but the fact that you can't ever truly get Tarkov'd for a whole wipe via free kits & Rook, plus the PvP ambush terror being opt-in fixes everything i didnt like about EfT.
