Weaponised incompetence perhaps, but I clearly can't keep hold of black bow ties - where on earth do they go?

I long ago stopped following her because her posts overwhelmingly suggest that she is highly sympathetic to them.

In this shot she was looking at the most enormous pigeon, which was hanging upside down basically taunting her with the avian equivalent of โ€˜come on of you think youโ€™re hard enoughโ€โ€ฆ.

Yes - fair enough! I was half thinking of the Vindolanda tablet where the scribe has written most of it but the Mistress has added a personal greeting.

There is something quite special about handwriting from the past. Not even a printer or scribe standing between us and the voice from another world.

Insofar as I could make it out, I read it as implying that it was plainchant with instructions/guidance for polyphonic/heterophonic embellishment. Bit that may be the over-interpreting!

Buckland Abbey monk music to be played after almost 500-year gap The music was discovered by a University of Exeter historian inside a 15th Century book.

#EarlyMusic is in the news this morning! But hereโ€™s a better article than the one thatโ€™s making the rounds, with more context, and input from a musicologist. The rediscovered music is #plainchant - which was the musical foundation of religious life at the time.

150 years of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, overlooked icon of Black classical music The British composer was a generational success story before his death at 37 โ€” yet keeping that legacy in view has always been a challenge, even during his lifetime.

I'm so excited to share my new piece for @npr.org about Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and the intricacies of his legacy - today is his actual 150th birthday!

I'm so grateful to my interview subjects: Samantha Ege, Curtis Stewart, Leah Broad, Michael Repper, and Sam Reenan
