The entire permanent staff of the Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice was laid off. This division addresses issues such as asthma and air pollution, climate change and health, childhood lead poisoning, and cancer clusters.

I would like to see events listed by state so I don't have to scroll through all of them to find out none are listed for Missouri.

We are not surprised.

The usage of blather precedes blither by over 300 years, probably by someone else using the wrong word.

It's blather, not "blither".

Unpopular opinion: You don't need to say "unpopular opinion". Just say what's on your mind if that happens to be your opinion.

I would be surprised if you didn't get any cloud seeding conspiracy theories.

"Dozens every day" is a hint. Maybe you haven't understood it.

btw, it's ironic that you're here on Bluesky complaining about people complaining, and there's no paywall or advertising. :)

The ads were still there, but I didn't have to pay to read the other content. Yes, I'm old, and I have no idea who you are or what you write, so I don't know why I would want to pay to see your work. Also, I read a lot online, if there's a paywall I just scroll on because I can't afford it. 2/2

Think of it this way: before the internet I could either have or not have a subscription to a newspaper or magazine containing ads. If I didn't have a subscription I could still go to the library, diner, or coffee shop and read the publication. 1/2

Let your life be a counter-friction to stop the machine. What I have to do is to see, at any rate, that I do not lend myself to the wrong which I condemn.”

β€œIf the injustice is part of the necessary friction of the machine of government, let it go, let it go: perchance it will wear smooth--certainly the machine will wear out… but if it is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then I say, break the law. (1/2)

Winslow Homer's Breezing Up. I have never seen a photograph of it that came close to the sheer brilliance of the original.
