Unsolicited writing advice, no. 8643:
Writing a synopsis is one of the hardest things to do. That's because in long form, it's easy to overlook things that don't make sense, or are not properly explained or developed. A detailed synopsis lays these things bare, which is why it's worth persevering.

It amuses me that people always assume future archaeologists looking at the stupid remains of the present day will necessarily be human, or even from this planet. That'll only be if we win.

If you're feeling creatively exhausted, then fill your tank with creative things. Read books. Watch films. See plays. Listen to music. Look at art. Remind yourself what creativity means to you.

A large part of storytelling is deciding what to tell your readers, and when. You don't need to give all the answers, but on some level, you need to know them.

The firmament is like a human head; the sun, moon and stars are the eyes; the air is our sense of hearing, the winds our sense of smell, the dew our taste; the sides of the cosmos are like our arms and our sense of touch, but the earth is our heart.

Dark painting in classical style, depicting a woman in a white dress with her back facing the viewer, wrapped in red fabric. The face of a man peaking through the darkness, near the woman's bleeding neck.
Book mockup of the first illustration.
The Dracula cover I worked on is finally revealed.
I am very stoked about this project, because doing a cover art for a classical book is a dream I didn't know I had, and also because they agreed to have the cover art minimalistic and elegant, and I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT IT.

A dark iron chest with a rounded lid.
"In addition to the luxurious and decorative jewel caskets of ivory and leather, iron coffrets and chests of varying sizes, designed primarily for security, were common. Used in the household to safeguard valuables or important documents, they were likewise employed in business establishments to protect both the profits of the dayβs trade and valuable merchandise.
On the front of this coffret are three hinged reinforcing bands; the outer two are fitted with hasps, while the central band both covers the keyhole and provides an attachment for a padlock. The internal locking mechanism, activated by a turn of the key, sends a metal bar through the iron hasps of the side bands."

The image depicts a character in a dramatic, stylized art design with a predominance of red and black tones.
The central figure is a female warrior standing in a confident pose. She has pale skin, short dark blue or black hair with blue highlights, and bright makeup. She is dressed in rich, decorative armor and clothing that combines elements of military and royal styleβa red cloak, gold patterns on her armor and boots. She has belts and decorations on her waist.
In her right hand, she holds a large dark weapon with a curved, almost organic design. With her left hand, she clenches her fist at her chest.
The background is rendered in bright red and black tones, with flags, swords, circles, and rays creating a halo around the character's head. Silhouettes of swords, banners, and flying birds are visible in the background.
Hey, artist! Quote with your red art!β€οΈ

Two gas giant planets appear to collide in space, with bright light at their point of contact. Text reads: What happens if you travel back in time and change history? A temporal paradox is a contradiction that arises when time travel affects the past.
A temporal paradox is a contradiction that arises when time travel allows actions in the future to influence the past. It challenges our understanding of cause and effect and fuels sciβfi plots and thought experiments.β―π§΅β¬οΈ (1/4)
