A very weighty piece of old lumber, engraved with the number 50. It's sitting in front of the stone wall of my airbnb which is the first floor (walkout basement?) of a 19th century building in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati.

Cincy Shakes does a very cool thing for ensemble members to commemorate when a milestone number of shows with the company is reached: an engraved piece of the same reclaimed wood used throughout the theatre.

So lovely to get one of my own for my design work on opening night of Othello.

Just discovered a horrific feature on my phone: I thought the "listen to this page" function in chrome would do a screen reader version of the article I had open. Instead, it started a podcast style ai conversation between two voices attempting to summarize the article.

It’s hard to properly convey the lunacy of these proposals to people outside aerospace.

This is such a strong matchup.

My theory for why people aren’t more enraged about this is that “betting on things you shouldn’t bet on with information you arent supposed to have” describes most of the “traditional“ ways to get rich in the US

Ah, I see a theatre's "anti racist action plan" with discrete steps for accountability has been replaced with an "inclusion action plan" that is full of general statements with no outside means of verification.

There is an anti-ICE justice choir meetup happening in Washington Park in Cincinnati right now.

This is full of tough matchups, y'all.

The only clarity I have in my bracket is how I felt driving north on i-75 in 2003, having just quit grad school, listening to August & Everything After on repeat.

I saw it at the RSC in 2001, in rep with 12th night. In theatres I work at: Shakespeare theatre of New Jersey last produced it in 2003, and Cincinnati Shakespeare in 2011, so it may come around again soon.

I haven't read it! I will definitely add the audiobook to my queue.
