At Michigan State I got to take two poetry classes with Diane Wakoski. They are such a key part of the writer I am now.

I am so close to finishing the first draft of this script!

And once I finish, I will go back and somehow cut 20 pages.

Audiences voted on the final hosts. Thankfully, I was eliminated early.

(Historical side note, got stuck in traffic going to the studio for my audition, as Eminem was filming a music video downtown.)

I was very bad at giving sound bite answers.

I was very good at reading from the teleprompter, EXCEPT that my face was too expressive for camera closeups.

"Could you do that again but move your eyebrows less?"

"I... I don't think I can."

After a while, the station announced they were looking for hosts for a clip show.

I auditioned, delivering some Shakespearean soliliquoy highlights into the kiosk camera.

I was selected as one of the semi-finalists and was brought into the studio for an interview and camera tests.

(That's estimating I'll design 10 shows. The system isn't broken, everything is great.)

Black and white photograph of a black cat, seen from behind, walking through snow with lots of snow clumps all over its fur. The cat's tail is saucy and erect but leaning towards the right. There is no other landscape in the photo other than the white snow.

Found on martiniden666's Tumblr, it's titled Cat in the Snow, 1953, photographer Hannes Kilian.

In my late-30s I started self describing as "increasingly middle aged," but I just realized that, statistically speaking, with each passing year I am now decreasingly middle aged.
