Yes, I think the OG pacing and storytelling is superior to Re-trilogy's versions. But at the same time, when making a trilogy, you need each installment to be its own game with its own true climax. And Sephiroth just isn't the mysterious Jaws-like figure of '97 anymore. Adding him here made sense.🌶️

As a writer, I always thought that + a mapmaker + a city/building designer would be such a cool "game". Just let me put together my imaginary world's assets!

I try not to be a gatekeeper in principle. I just am not sure why I should bother to engage with someone about FF7 if they haven't played FF7. I guess if they've watched Let's Plays or something?

But then again, just playing FF7 alone doesn't necessarily make one a "lore expert" either, I guess.

Right! The context is clear. Honestly, Tifa seems a little annoyed in both her responses to Cloud, but just one can be the "bad" answer. Tifa's OG characterization is a little spunkier in the Midgar section than we see in Remake (personally, I love it!), she doesn't want Cloud underestimating her.
