Kind of curious if anyone was able get past TikTok's self imposed ban last night. I was able to use a VPN to install the app. (I don't normaly do #TikTok.) However, with VPN, removing sim card, turning of location data, I still got blocked by the app. I browsed Romanian TikTok, no problem.

Maybe he wandered into the meeting and just sat down, and everyone was too polite to mention it. That happened to me once. I was visiting an office location I didn't normally go to and I wasn't quite sure which conference room I was supposed to be in. I walked into one and sat down and it took me five minutes to realize I was in the wrong meeting. From the perspective of the people in that room, halfway through that meeting, a stranger walked in, sat next to the boss, took notes for five minutes, then walked out without saying a word.

I think this is exactly right, he is making this tenuous connection between Danny and the Gemstone Emperors and the Lightbringer myth he is planning to introduce in book 2. But he hasn't moved it past Valyria. By book 2 he's probably moved it to Ashaii.

Seriously though, the Gemstone Emperors are in Danny's fever dream in the first book. He just hadn't figured out where they were from yet.
