A kestrel sits up in a dead branch overhead, a shrew in its talons

Okay, this isn’t scientific, but I’m wondering if there is a food trend with our kestrels. The kestrels at my neighbor’s nest box keep bringing dragonflies to their young. The kestrels using the cottonwood seem to favor rodents and birds. 🤔 #birds
