— he needs to pump those breaks hard real quick. clearing his throat, he sits up and shifts a little, gaze averted to avoid getting his ass caught looking even a little flustered.

“you were tappin’ me with your fingers. kept me awake. i got close a few times and you’d tap me again and i’d end up being wide awake again.”

a soft groan follows. man. having to sit up on his own again kind of sucked. remus was nice and warm to- no. easy now. HAHA wow.—

— for a while, he just lays there and listens, eyes focused on the page yet not reading a word.

it feels like an odd reversal of roles. he remembers being the one to read to remus. it’s kind of a nice change, really but he could be causing trouble somewhere in the castle.

for remus, he endures.

the taps, to his distress, keep him awake.

now he’s there, enduring actually learning something. it takes everything he has to not start sighing.

torture. but at least the voice delivering said torture is easy on the ears.—

— he’s actually comfortable ( totally not because he’s being held, haha, no, because that would be crazy ).

the material is at least a little interesting ( it is NOT ) so he’s sure at least something will stick ( against his will ).

he knows remus would neeeever. that big ol’ grin on his face says enough, really. his head lands on his shoulder and his eyes focus on the book, the words.

hey, he’s at least trying to listen. that’s progress. moony’s got a good voice anyway. nice to listen too, really.—

today, my cigarette went out and i had to go through the effort of relighting it. i feel hate crimed by life.

settle in, huh? alright. he flops against remus with a sigh, leaning against his side like he owned that very spot ( he does ).

“alright. all settled in, moony, feed me all the knowledge and pray it sticks this time.” it will not but they can try.

“you can read to me then, maybe i’ll retain some of the information if it’s coming from you because there is no way i am spending all my time studying when i could be enduring detention like normal people.”

oh! look at that. he has the attention now! hah! nice, feels like.. victory.

the grumbling is soft, sagging in his seat and crossing his arms over his chest in a stubborn manner.

“.. are you STILL reading that? finance? really? nerd.” PFFT.

it’s been half a day. half a hellish day and he’s almost out of cigarettes, has three hours of detention and if james throws one more note at him.. it is over for everyone in the room.

torture. this is absolute torture. truly!!!
