The anatomy of a diaper is quite simple, but understanding the materials helps us block out each of the most important parts. I like to use darker, stronger shades for the thicker, stronger plastics. A grayscale diaper and red monochrome diaper are laid out side to side, labeled on the left with blocked out parts, and on the right with a colour swatch reference, along with colourpicked spots from a palette in HLS mode (triangle-shaped picker). The parts labeled on the grayscale one are "landing strip (sturdy plastic)," "tapes (thick, adhesive)," "wings (thin plastic)," "padding (plastic backed stuffing)," each pointing in the appropriate place. One last label in the middle reads "you can also add extra contrast to the tape's anchor." In the bottom half, the text continues, "This is obviously just a guide! I often use this as an easy starting point, then elaborate further on that design as needed. Have Fun!"

Some people enjoyed my explanation on stream of how I quickly drum up plain diaper designs, so I condensed it into a quick little guide to share it around!

Just remember it's a suggestion/starting point to modify as you please.

After I take the diapers out of the packaging, I refold them. Only once in the middle. Then they remind me incredibly of the baby diapers I used to wear. They were also only folded once in the middle. The boxes used to be longer and bigger.

One of my favorite things to do when sharing diaper photos with friends is instruct them to describe specifically what they love so much about particular diaper photos, often making buddies even more adorably flustered. The results can be super fun!
