This seems to be one of the most impactful parts of the statement:

โ€œPromote broad distribution and geographic balance of funding, considering the total amount and type of NIH funding already available to each investigatorโ€

Money to favored states, and fewer 2+ award PIs?

Just wait until non-sweet puddings come into the mix. Haggis? Pudding. Blood sausage? Pudding. Yorkshire pudding? Pudding. Steak and kidney pie? Pudding.

Chocolate pudding? Custard or blancmange.

In that case, it might not be that. But if you can take the cover off the fan and/or switch, you can change the frequencies (usually a slider switch) and see if anything starts to work. There is a small chance that vibration from the fan, a banging door, etc. could make the slider switch misalign.

Is the wall controller on the same frequency as the fan/light? They usually have 3-4 settings to switch to, so that each room in a house doesnโ€™t control another fan/light by mistake.

I just want to know how intentional the pun was in the news story title. Seems a bit weighty a subject to throw in a tabloid-style headline.

Anthony Anderson. Possibly best known from Black-ish, but the two of them also hosted a BBQ cookery show together.

Iโ€™m new to reading budget requests, so this may be a naive question, or a misunderstanding. On page 5 of the exec summary it says that half of the RPG budget is reserved to pay the whole outyear costs of a grant, instead of competing then non-competing renewals. Does that mean fewer awards/year?

If there was no time to leaven the bread, surely there would be no time to remove the apple peel. Leaving it on just seems consistent on a process level.

I wonder if there is a difference between new K99s vs. new Ks in general, given the eligibility differences?

Is it usual for some of these meetings to be all open to the public? Most of the ones I have seen are either closed, or have a closed portion for grant discussions. The NHLBAC seems to be all open to the public - does that mean no grants will be discussed?

I agree - the only thing that gives hope is that they went to the trouble of updating their own IC webpage, which they didnโ€™t do for all the other false dawns.

Not sure if itโ€™s in the FR yet, but NHLBI has planned a make-up meeting in April and their regular one in June (according to their website, and eRA Commons).

Just had a review assignment for an NLHBI SEP canceled (was invited to review last month for a meeting in May). It seems like the plan to remove all IC-based review is in full swing.

No, again itโ€™s on eRA commons. Iโ€™m pretty sure itโ€™s just gaslighting me. Although, it was for a grant that was NDโ€™d, so the jokes on them!
