A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nationβs people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.
We mustnβt let this war do so.

News you can use, from the @wired.com security team (who are the best in the biz).
They asked technologists, activists, aid groups, and cybersecurity experts for guidance on how to organize and collaborate in an age of surveillance. Hereβs the result:

"The Shadow President," @andykroll.bsky.social's deep dive into Russell Vought, has just won a George Polk award for political reporting.
The piece chronicles Voughtβs rise from the Senate mailroom to his position as one of the most influential players in the Trump administration.

Whatβs one way we can rein in ICE?
We can start by boycotting ICEβs corporate collaborators that are profiting from the agencyβs cruelty.

Most (and it's more than 90%) of the people ICE is detaining have no violent criminal history. 92,600 beds? No.
Detention should only be for the people who are physically harmful to society. There are ZERO good reasons to keep a 75 year old Iranian grandmother locked up, or even a day wage dad.
Everything is for sale.
