Have disliked Everton more than this, have *definitely* loved them more than this. But have never felt like they're something to be endured quite like this.

John Prescott used to say “when I die all they’ll go on about is that bloody punch!” Well no, they went on about a whole lot more. I did a dozen or so interviews paying tribute today and it was so nice to hear so many recalling him so fondly and recognising his enormous achievers and character

They don’t make politicians like John Prescott anymore. A true firebrand, socialist who help Labour deliver three successive election victories. I was lucky enough to meet him a few time when at university in Hull and he really was a wonderful man. RIP John.
