Got reminded today that gout is a chronic disease that can strike without warning.
Luckily I have some colchicine for just this occasion but until it takes effect I’m going to try to stay off the foot.
I’ve been doing so well at managing it lately. Don’t know what triggered it. Sigh and ouch.

Naoblocks are neat! They’re pretty popular here in China, too.

I had a ton of fun with Huntdown. It did a great job of thoughtfully keeping what made the classics so much fun.

Finished the Great Deku Tree (breath of the wild version, of course). It was a fairly simple build without too many surprises. There are a ton of nods to the series in it that made me smile every time I found one. #Lego has been at the top of their game lately.

I thought I was the only one. They put such care and effort into every aspect of the game except making it fun to play. I’m baffled that anyone could legitimately enjoy it.

Prime 1 is an all-timer well worth your time.

I didn’t find out about the treasure chest messages until several hours in and you best believe I backtracked to read as many of them as I could.
Your small details in each of your games are what make them special.

Fortune isn’t a bad starting point, but 6 is definitely more beginner friendly. Fortune has more systems to grapple with and the base dungeon is more difficult, but it did a decent job of introducing the basics and giving you room to explore them.
At that price, it’s worth trying.

This is outstanding and sets a standard everyone should meet going forward.

This is one of the reasons I love the Shiren series so much. It's possible to do some outlandish things once you've learned what everything does and how it interacts with everything else. It's so much more satisfying than getting the biggest stick to hit things with.

@janochoa.bsky.social the 3d scanner app my colleague uses is called Polycam 3d scanner. It uses the LiDAR on modern iPhones or iPads to do the scanning and the file works with different video editors. Hope it helps!

I enjoy Uma quite a bit but I’ve no experience with the genre. Any recommendations on mobile or Switch? Unfortunately I only read English and Chinese so the best might be beyond me.

One of my colleagues does this for his 3D modeling class. There’s a mobile app he uses that works with blender I think, but IIRC it saved the model as something that works with most video editors. I’ll ask him and get back to you.

This is basically Steredenn. You only have one life and weapons, upgrades, and enemies are randomized each run. It’s fun!

I was there this summer just a couple of weeks after it opened, I think. They were still rationing Switch 2 stuff and didn’t have a lot of clothing in my size. I was still grinning like an idiot the whole time and spent far more money than I intended 😂. 10/10 experience.

It’s possible your local dialect doesn’t distinguish between them. It’s one of the tricky things about minimal pairs.
It’s all good. Language is infinitely diverse and that’s why it’s cool.

I second everything said here. This is one of those games that I think ONLY works as a game.
It’s one of the most compelling experiences I’ve had in years and everyone should spend some time with it. It’s special.

Nah they’re fine slant rhymes but the vowel sounds are definitely different.

I’m still in awe of how they created such a compelling narrative structure out of what seems like pure chaos. You basically get to choose the order you play the chapters in and it works no matter which order you pick!

Pole rhymes with mole, pull rhymes with full. They're different sounds entirely.

This is why Gen X is known for its cynicism! We didn't just decide on it out of nowhere. We saw what happened and reacted in the only way we thought we could.

It’s neat to have this information from the new Nintendo store app, but I’m convinced some of the numbers aren’t right. It shows a whole lot at just over one hour when I’m sure I played them for at least 10 and I think there’s at least one missing from the over 50. Still, pretty neat!

Something is weird about the totals because there are a bunch of mine with “less than one hour” that I’m sure I played for much more time.
