The Republicans seem to be prepping an argument that any domestic terror attacks in the aftermath of their Iran attacks will be the fault of Democrats for shutting down DHS funding, so I'd like to remind everyone of this appointment:

the problem with the iran war is that The Enemy Gets A Vote and president deals can't reverse his stupid decision without their consent and right now they ain't interested in signing off.

He has absolutely no idea how much shit he can break, or how fast he can break it--and how limited his ability to reverse the effects of this batshittery is.
If he puts enough stress on global markets, they can in fact break.
The President may have final authority over battlefield decisions but the bullets still belong to Congress, not to him.

to be clear, we could still pull out of this if the us/israel & iran are all like "haha jk it can only good happen" by the end of the week or so, but otherwise, we're gonna slam into a wall pretty fast.

Q: "Did Israel force your hand to launch these strikes against Iran? Did Netanyahu pull the United States into this war?"
Trump: "No, I might've forced their hands…I might've forced Israel's hand."
You notice how quiet China has been?
That's because you never interfere with an enemy who is in the process of destroying himself.

Jesus: “Before I come again, there will be great and profound evil in the world. Don’t be part of it; actively resist it.”
“Christian” Nationalists: “So we should actively usher in the evil. Got it.”
We’re in a dangerous war which could blow up the entire Middle East, leading to Gd knows what, and we’re in the hands of a madman. Yet too many are blaming Israel. This is Trump’s war. And it’s on the head of everyone who didn’t vote for the smart Black lady, for whatever crass reason.

“Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!”
Luke 17:1. It’s been on my mind for some reason this evening.
Israel simply does not have the power to force the US government to do something it does not want to do. What Rubio is doing here, by claiming Israel forced the US hand, is making Israel the scapegoat for a US policy he knows is unpopular. This framing is going to be so bad for Diaspora Jews.

@aelkus.bsky.social we're really on track for a hard collapse in regime legitimacy between now and February next year. It's just gonna get fucking worse and worse.
