This is part of why I suggest going with the Shinra Archaeology Cut mod, which is both on PS1 and PC. The PC version optionally restores cut content, but you can play vanilla.

Do the hard mode: Disable auto-dubbing, then learn multiple languages to translate and dub them yourself.
