Yeah, depends a lot on the details of the case and the technology.

We are lucky to be hosted by the Courts of New Zealand in real courtrooms with real judges presiding, with real lawyers arguing a made up case. I'm appearing as the technical expert witness in all three events!

We are running mock trial events in August to explore the evolving role of AI in the justice system. Through a mock pre-trial hearing, we will explore the admissibility of a piece of evidence obtained almost solely through a (fictional) AI tool. Is the NZ legal framework ready?

Annoyingly the correct answer was "have up to date antivirus software" and not "dig a deep hole and bury your computer underground"
