Salford Red Devils have squeaked into the new #SuperLeague season with a takeover led by an investment bank subject to approval.
Hopefully the start of a very productive new era for the club.

This is so disappointing and a very eerie sign that America is going to take a big step backwards in diversity and equity over the coming years. The NFL must do better. This smacks of cowardice.

Bitterly disappointing to hear that Salford have been told to sell players by the RFL. This is a club that asked their fans to dig deep for them in the last 18 months and they responded in kindness. What kind of playing squad will they have in 2025? An absolute top to bottom mess.

In terms of takeaways;
CAS: Unconvinced by signings. Forward pack will let them down.
CATALANS: Very promising group. Keary could be signing of the season.
GIANTS: Good chat about Robinson's credentials. On the periphery this year.
HULL FC: Lots of positives but squad unlikely to challenge.

Hull KR swooping for Arthur Mourgue is a big statement signing for them for 2026 onwards.
With Evalds getting on in years and out of contract, that's a quality signing for their fullback position.

Has Rashford sparked weeks of annoyingly endless speculation about his future with that Henry Winter piece? Yes.
Does the idea of him leaving Manchester United make me incredibly sad? Also yes.
But is it also the right time for us to give him a graceful departure? I think so.
A big day in the #NRL and a big day for #rugbyleague in general.
The sport's biggest competition adds a PNG side that, due to the tax breaks, will offer a competitive side from the start in 2028. With the Bears and potentially Orcas to follow, 20 teams could be a reality by the end of the decade!
Had to keep quiet about it but definitely over the moon to have University of Salford as the main shirt sponsor for the Salford Red Devils next year.
This club and the University are so ingrained in the city's community that it made perfect sense to have that partnership expanded.

Fair point. Agree the game needs vocal commentators prepared to say the good and bad about the sport/clubs. Just always seems a bit sensationalist when it gets to the headlines!

Hard not to be concerned with the state of Salford's financial situation but two key things keep coming to mind.
How awful this looks considering the club raised thousands from fans in donations last year and what about the council deal?

Planning a new #HotRecap ep for Monday night but in the meantime, some thoughts on the #SuperLeague draw.
- Not a lot to be excited by in the opening two rounds
- Saints/Wigan on Good Friday should be on BBC not Sky but I guess that will never happen
- Huddersfield have one of the toughest starts
Is there any other former player/pundit in the UK that draws more attention from #RugbyLeague outlets than Jon Wilkin?
The man criticises clubs on a daily and his latest onslaught on Leeds is nothing new.
Just don't understand why his words seem to hold so much weight by UK outlets.
Interesting move to go with Wigan v Leigh to lead the 2025 #SuperLeague season.
Leopards will be much-changed next year and probably not ready for a contest at that scale in Round One. Salford v St Helens is a great matchup given how their respective seasons ended!

So much to dig into here - Feldt, as expected, to take on Makinson's role. Sailor and Lomax confirmed partnership in the halves. Bennison retains the No 5 but can see Murphy starting ahead of him. Excited to see Whitby and Robertson kick on in 2025 as well.
