Doctor with fibromyalgia (@fibroindiangirl)
"You know what is frustrating ? Most of the time i try so hard to understand my body with chronic illnesses . I read, I learn, I adapt, but then there are those days when I just can't take it. I mean, seriously, why do I have to go through this? I wish I could just catch a break sometimes. Life’s not fair, and it’s hard not to wonder, “What the hell, man?” But I keep pushing forward because, well, what else can I do?"

a dammed river. background, winter trees behind snow-covered, frozen river, foreground, rocks covered by snow and ice, with a few shrubs and small trees poking up.
I’ve missed snow so much. Yeah, the cold is starting to feel like an endurance challenge, but sun on snow is so bright and beautiful.

I remain absolutely furious that all this shit in Minneapolis started because a barely-literate homeschooled mormon made a video trying to run up in daycare centers trying to find people of Somalian descent doing fraud despite the ringleader (a white woman) being in jail since March. Demonic.

Abstract. It is not understood how cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, specifically the representation of sex in CPR manikins, contributes to ine
women are more likely to die of a heart attack than men. among the reasons: hardly any cpr training dummies have breasts, and if they do, they’re an optional overlay that trainers can choose to use, or not.
result: women having a heart attack, in public or in a hospital, are less likely to get cpr.

What if this darkness
is not the darkness of the tomb,
But the darkness of the womb.
What if our America is not dead,
But a country that is waiting to be born.
What if the story of America is one long labor
What if all our grandfathers and grandmothers are standing behind us now,
Those who survived occupation and genocide,
Slavery and Jim Crow,
Detentions and political assault.
What if they are whispering in our ear tonight,
You. Are. Brave.

i don’t do an exercise “program” any more, i just try to mix it up and do a lot of different things. swim, weights, yoga, walk…
before long covid, it was bike, hike, walk, run, yoga, capoeira, swim, kayak.
just … get activity, most days, enjoy it, and enjoy feeling fit and strong.

i keep reminding myself of what rabbi tarfon said:
"you are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it" (pirkei avot 2:16).
yet i keep thinking that i am not doing enough.
and i keep wondering, is there *anything* i could do, that would be enough?
