i love the metro games (think exodus is an all timer) but jesus christ artyom not saying anything outside of loading screens is the one that drives me the most insane when it comes to this topic

like many gameplay choices i don't think silent protags are intrinsically bad (they have their place) but situating me in a fully fledged character's head by having the gameplay experience reflect their perspective is a far more effective approach if resonance is the intended goal
