now that it's free, i'm going to spend my time learning affinity so I can stop this stupid photoshop subscription
for one, it seems like i can easily create / edit separate layer for each channel (using channel mixer adjustment), which is what i do most in ps anyway (creating textures / masks)

I think the difference is I really neglect it by not having my own space and just exclusively rely on others.
If I were to prioritize writing for my own notes first THEN post it to other places, it would be a good balance I think?
