Public Housing Authorities, especially the one in NYC, really have the capacity to *make* a market through their sheer size.

It feels like they are cargo-curling Singaporean style HSAs without all the other parts and pieces.

Gotta be honest, if Manchin can pull another miracle and get the WV Senate seat I’ll gladly accept him being so g-d dang annoying.

The public sector, from Feds down to the municipal level & even things like port authorities are being bled dry by low-productivity processes in the name of β€œjobs”. See: opposition to trash containerization, driverless trains, port automation, etc. This makes our gov services more $$$ & less useful.

You also ignore the GST. Which is a major tax.

Yeah, AI companies do not pose the same systemic risk to the economy as the big banks and investment firms. They just aren’t comparable, in either importance or size.

Why do you think that? Major financial institutions are very different (and much more important) than AI firms. And at any rate, those data centers will still exist and the need for remote computing is not going to decrease.

It’s something absolutely no one actually cares about, so he’s latched onto it because it’s just like him and his reactionary centrist colleagues.

the party now cared more about climate change and various academic fixations than cheap energy and good-paying jobs.

the party now cared more about climate change and various academic fixations than cheap energy and good-paying jobs.

This right here, this exact sentence, is THE problem in American political journalism.

The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.

Yep. As a committed constitutionalist, any action taken by Trump 2 and, in fact, his entire administration is defacto illegal and void.

Middle school boys are like that stage between when a caterpillar has built its cocoon but hasn’t become a butterfly yet. Deeply, deeply mysterious, unknowable transformations are happening with no identifiable center of thought or reasoning.
