I challenged myself to stash down this year, but the part that no one talks about is the lack of motivation to knit with the yarn you’ve got. It’s like talking to an ex after a breakup. I don’t want to be associated with you, even if you are 100% cashmere 🧶

Last month I did my first test knit, The Cluaran Sock pattern by Grey Owl Knits. They fit really nicely and I think this is my new favorite heel type. 🧶🧦💜🌿

I love how this fits him and how it feels like a nod back to the original fisherman's sweaters. I would love to attempt to knit one of those with all the original techniques and structures in the future.

After 1.5 years, 3 froggings & much learning I've finally finished knitting @noah-the-bard.bsky.social's sweater!

I ended up using the Storm Sweater pattern by Petite Knit with changes due to using a heavy worsted, and an added gusset in the armpit

I used Heritage by Briggs & Little 🧶

A mathematical mess...

This spring I self drafted a sweater without having knit anything like it before, + while playing yarn chicken. 🧶🐔

I will be frogging this monstrosity and giving the motif a second chance after I learn some more about these types of sweaters.

Tried it on and it fits snugly so I'm now working on the ribbing. I'm doing a two toned fisherman's rib for some extra squish.

Guide to Natural Dyes — Natural Dyes

I did a big mordant day last year when I acquired a large amount of yarn blanks so it's been a while, but if I remember correctly I used alum and followed the instructions from Maiwa's Natural Dyes: naturaldyes.ca/instructions

Did some yarn dying this weekend, some little orange bits for my mom who's knitting tiny pumpkins, and trying to color match some bits for an upcoming sweater project. 🧶

I used marigolds from my garden for the yellow and madder root power for the red. 🌼

I made two changes, one was the motif which I adjusted to be a closer match to my Tulip socks while keeping the same stitch count as the original, and the other was yarn size which I reduced to get a lighter, flowy fabric so I can wear it in warmer weather.

Been quiet online lately, all the summer shenanigans have my autistic brain a little overwhelmed.
