You’re definitely one of the first who come to mind. USA Today’s Reviewed had a very robust one for quite a while too before they basically scrapped the entirety of the Reviewed staff. Wirecutter has people dedicated to it but not sure there’s any official section. Either way this is flat out wrong🤷‍♀️

Social media created this nonsense idea that not exposing yourself to hatred is isolationist. Choosing to not spend your free time with bigots isn’t living in a bubble. I don’t need to know what’s going on at X. I won’t be smarter or more knowledgeable or empathic by being there. Neither will you.

In response to community pressure, New Hampshire Governor Ayotte announced that plans to build an ICE facility in Merrimack, NH have been cancelled. Protest after protest, communities in New Hampshire showed up in a big way, and proved people power can successfully move the needle.

Some police/police-adjacent presence but honestly everyone is being very calm. One officer even helped me find a safe place to sit where I was out of the way.

The POTUS explicitly threatened elected representatives with death for *checks notes* telling military members to follow the law.

An important note. None of the Democratic senators who voted yes on Sunday’s procedural motion are up for re-election in 2026. Two of them, Dick Durbin of Illinois, and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, are retiring next year, while the earliest that any of the others would face a challenge would be in 2028.

Props to The Guardian's reporting for making sure that the names were bolded and the lack of consequences to these senators were called out for everyone to see.

(Back in college, I studied sexual assault on college campuses and the response that universities and communities had to them, so this topic is one that always hits home pretty hard for me. So, SO often men are given a pass and everyone doesn't want to "ruin their future."

I have watched grown-ass men have their behavior excused by other adults around them with a "they're young." As a 25-year-old, I sat in professional business meetings with coworkers who explained to me that their 20-something-year-old sons couldn't possibly be expected to function like an adult.

I wouldn't even bother with a quote like this typically, because it's so obviously absurd, but this one hits a different place than most.

Because he is not the only one who thinks this. "Boys will be boys" is STILL a problem phrase that people like to say.
