Mine was just a few years earlier in the late 80s. I have a teen girl & do think that Doctors are better about this but societal pressures are the same or worse. She's the "ideal" weight my Dr. wanted me to be, but she still fell into some bad habits last year, which we fortunately caught early.

That was the start of my body issues & disordered eating. I often wonder how different things would've been if my Dr just said "find a physical activity you like" rather than "you must weigh X." That was when they used life ins charts. The irony is under BMI I would've been "normal" at the time.
