If we migrated the googlebot.json file to a new location with a 301 redirect, would that break your fetches? Or the fetcher would just follow the redirect

TIL Wikipedia moved to shared desktop/mobile website URL pattern, no more m-dot URLs.
If you're curious about the behind-the-scenes work (site migrations! everybody's favorite, right?!):

The higher the urgency, and the stronger the push of new acronyms, the more likely they're just making spam and scamming.

I have a question about how Google displays site names and favicons in search results. Please see my post on LinkedIn.

@johnmu.com Is AI Mode traffic now included in Search Console? (It wasn't before.)

@johnmu.com AI Overviews and AI Mode use (customised) Gemini as their internal LLM. But they are not affected by Google-Extended because they're not Gemini Apps. Is my understanding correct?

Google's AI crawler for Gemini, Google-Extended, does render JavaScript using the shared Web Rendering Service @divingfor.fun confirmed to @suzukik.bsky.social www.seroundtable.com/googles-ai-c... hat tip @glenngabe.bsky.social

How accurate and reliable is "similar web" data? I ask because we have some data points from Cloudflare that are significantly different and Cloudflare data is pretty bullet proof to me.

The AI crawler that Gemini uses does render JavaScript (via a rendering service that's shared across Googlebot and Gemini). And that's an advantage over other AI chatbots (for now at least): video of @suzukik.bsky.social and @divingfor.fun

Here's the tool: brand-intent.dejan.ai
You can either enter the URL for scraping or enter plain text.
Oh, there it is! Thanks for your help!

I can't find the regex filter in my Search Console anymore. It's missing. Is it the same for you?

Your Google Business Profile photos suck! π
Big brands can hire a photographer to take photos for their GBP, but smaller brands donβt have that kind of budget - which is why we invited pro photographer @marccharette.com to help you capture your business by yourself.

@johnmu.com The help page says "Only URLs with known instances of this issue are queued for recrawling, not the whole site." I understand that to mean the "Validate Fix" option makes recrawling happen faster. Am I getting that wrong?
