A lovely blue sky with wispy white clouds forms the backdrop to this sparsely forested meadow, with a group of lushly verdant pines in the background and a towering dead tree at right.

Disgraceful.

A pine tree appears to be growing out of solid rock from this sloping, striated limestone wall. Filling the crack in which it grows can be seen a seeming river of pine needles and small twigs. A few more small trees and shrubs can be seen in the background, up and down the sloping wall. The sky is mostly washed out, with hints of fair weather clouds.

It's #FossilFriday, guys and dolls. Here we have a Cretaceous era pine cone, cut in half and polished. Araucharia sp., purchased from the Discovery store back when they were unaffiliated with the channel and heavily focused on natural history items.

A person, rendered tiny by the vast landscape around them, stands atop a knuckle of white brain rock at the edge of a chasm. The geology of the terrain is astonishingly complex and artistic, as if swirled in a blender. A few puffy clouds hover in a pale blue sky.

It is apparently impossible for an Instagrammer to refrain from having their picture taken while standing on this particular prominence.

Enquiring minds (well, MINE anyway) want to know what shutter speed you used.

A telephone pole reaches skyward from a flat area covered with scrub brush. There are no wires attached to the pole, with appears to have never been used for the purpose. Behind it is a steep cliff showing layers of limestone with gaps between them. The rolling hills above meet a blue sky with a few fluffy clouds.

A pair of gray mudstone pinnacles rise into the clear blue sky, one showing a sparse remaining cap of reddish ironstone. To their right and below, a pair of red-capped hoodoos stand guard, the nearer of which looks like a platform. In the far left distance an escarpment reaches to the horizon.
