My current pleasure read is Ron Chernow’s excellent recent biography of Mark Twain, and I’ll never not be amazed that this little silent film of him (with his daughters Jean and Clara) still exists. Shot by none other than Thomas Edison, too.

Prepping for my online Texas history class and wanted to share “Old Texas,” a silent film from 1916 that features famed rancher Charles Goodnight and his relationship with the Kiowa and the founding of the JA Ranch in Palo Duro Canyon, in the Texas Panhandle. Amazing. 🗃️
