Q&A: The US is losing its only dengue vaccine The only dengue vaccine ever approved in the United States is being discontinued, raising questions about control of the mosquito-borne virus amid a decades-long surge in cases. The vaccine, Dengvaxia, was approved by the FDA in 2019 for children aged 9 to 16 years living in U.S. territories where dengue is endemic, including American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
