Finished the Hog Furry body sketch. I think I’ll start working with this build—he’s a brawler/fighter.

Well… the other side will think the same way, like you do. In the end, the company will look at which group pays more money and will act accordingly. The reason I wrote that post was simply to explain how people in Korea are viewing the situation around ANRAN’s face.

I’m trying to draw the Hog Furry with a thicker, bulkier body type than what I usually draw. I also think it might be better to make his waist thicker here.

This also isn’t just my personal opinion—I’m summarizing what I’ve seen from comments in male-dominated communities. There are people like you who like Venture or other LGBT characters, but their comments tend to get heavily shut down and buried.

If Venture hadn’t been seen as “ugly,”I think male-dominated communities would have reacted much more positively even if Venture were non-binary.

Dislike toward unusual characters exists everywhere—it’s not unique to Korea. It’s just that Korean communities are extremely wary of characters that are unusual and also perceived as “ugly.”

I don’t think communities are a single unified hive mind either. That said, Overwatch has consistently struggled in Korea, and at the time I was constantly hearing news that its player numbers overseas were low as well.

It’s probably why I’ve become less resilient to tweets like this. People like that leave the same replies across all my social media. Whenever they show up, it’s hard for me to ignore them—I’m afraid they’ll label me a racist again, or call me “ching chong” like they did back then.
