So, what weather phenomenon happens to cause rainbow season?

We get small, fast moving squalls that produce rain, graupel, or snow, followed by sunshine, usually in spring and fall. The intense pockets of sun in between precipitation cause perfect conditions for rainbows.

We've had a big shift in weather here in Reykjavík this week, finally. Not only did we get some blizzard-like conditions, we also got an early appearance of what I call Rainbow Season™️.

Only this time we were treated to the some extra rare "snowbows."

Neil Sedaka, songwriter to the stars for decades, dies at 86 Sedaka, who was also a performer himself, penned such hits as "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do," "Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen" and "Love Will Keep Us Together."

So sad to learn of Neil Sedaka’s death. Castles in the Air was a really important song to my dad musically and lyrically.
