I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.

I'll admit, I was skeptical when they said Gemini was just like a bunch of PhDs. But I gotta admit they nailed it.

Glad to see my colleagues in Dutch academia standing up against the uncritical embrace of AI from administrators. The fact that so many signatories come from AI studies shows this is not about being a luddite, it's a matter of protecting education itself. Read the letter and sign if you agree!

My paper "IMDb and the Privatization of the Digital Commons" is finally out in glorious #OpenAccess! It's a history of IMDb (which is older than you'd think!) and its role in the process of capitalist accumulation of the fruits of collective digital labor - a phenomenon that is ramping up with AI.

The problem is also that democrats don't actually apply their supposed platform and voters hate phonies.
