Heute gedenken wir den Opfern des rassistischen Anschlags in #Hanau vor 6 Jahren. Neun Menschen verloren am 19.02.2020 ihr Leben. Inzwischen ist ein weiteres Opfer hinzugekommen: Ibrahim Akkuş. Er verstarb am 10. Januar 2026 an den Spätfolgen von Schussverletzungen. #HanauIstÜberall

Diese Kritik am neuen Gedenkstättenkonzept sollten alle kennen! Erinnerungskultur bedeutet nicht, die Verbrechen gegeneinander auszuspielen, sondern muss darauf zielen, dass sich die Gewalt nicht wiederholt. Das beinhaltet unbedingt auch koloniale Gewalt.

The conditions in many immigration detention centers are horrifying.
Inedible food. Individuals forced to sleep on the floor next to overflowing toilets. Pregnant women shackled and suffering miscarriages.
It is a system designed to break peoples’ spirit, akin to torture.
This is how a government could also act. Sanctuary cities and safe havens instead of detention, deportation, and fascization.
