Fair reasoning honestly
Plus ignoring my personal feelings, D-pads can be adapted with in time for other types of games
Even have a friend who managed to pkay Rivals Of Aether with it
Its possible !

Funny thing is Ive kinda entered Defeatist mode when it comes to finding a retro handheld that can run the big boys lol (N64+ interests me but it very much boosts up the price of the console by alot)
I like having dedicated consoles and stuff
But I definitely think you should cop the RG35XXH
Definitely keeping my eyes out for the Anbernic RG-35XX H; that one seems like the most bang for my buck
I'll hover around the RG34XX too since I love how it's jusr a shameless GBA ripoff but still good lol
Plus it has a TON of support (same with its SP brother)
Side tangent these names fucking suck dude LMAOOOO
Seriously who thought this was a good naming scheme
Girl go fix ur posture u gonna fuck up your spine

It's the 10th anniversary of Fairly Oddparents Season 10. Here's the very first drawing I did for it in 2016. Probably one of the first Chloe drawings online even. I was always a fan and am happy ANW has made people go back and be more open minded of this era too. #fop #fanart

An ENTIRE CONTROLLER for the switch is wild bro
It is that dire
YES
I WISH THOSE FUCKERS STILL MADE CONTROLLERS THEY WERE BUILT TO LAST
SATURN 3D PAD AND DREAMCAST CONTROLLER USED HALL EFFECT TO NEGATE DRIFT
Insane flex but I gotta respect it

Im tryna not break the bank; focusing purely on SoRetro games (with a focus on SNES and GBA)
Cuz again, Steam deck
If Im gonna do heavy emulation, its gonna be on that thing lol; even order an SD card and adapter to streamline the emudeck process
Once my laptop is fixed
Uhhh currently?
>Trimui Smart pro (I tend to prefer horizontals I think. I have a kabillion hours on my Steam deck)
>RG34XX (I know people love the SP but hinges give me anxiety lol)
>RG35XX (tis a vertical but yknow, beggars cant be choosers)
Both you and Fuzz are repping the Sega Genesis/Saturn's controllers lol
They're that good huh
I alternate depending on the game. 2D I mainly use D-Pad with some exceptions made with PS1 games at times
3D games, stick
old ass SEGA games though I use the D-Pad. The D-Pads on Genesis & Saturn controllers are lit asf
That too makes sense, yeah
I mostly play 2d games yet for some reason D-pad just inflicts me with this gross feeling when I use it lol
Idk why
basically just depends on if it's 2d or 3d. skonging it up with the joystick feels wrong

I also just like using the dpad for menu browsing
What made me a dpad truther were the Sega Genesis/Saturn, there hasn't been a dpad as good as that one neither before nor since
added my oc into mickey mouse works is he noticeable
#art #sonic
Though im kind of having a beggars cant be choosers moment because of the fsct that all the budget retro handheld im interested in are D-pad merchants lol
So I guess im gonna have to learn today
Forreal???
I never knew this was a thing
"Due to me budget retro handheld searching"

D-Pad, in the case of fighting games I'll DAMNED before I react too slow because of how sticks work or be fucked by drift.
RPGs as well because I like making my actions accurately.
That's a pretty fair assessment yeah (Joysticks dont have those nuances to them funnily enough)
It's weird cuz for me my brain just can't handle D-pads for some reason. Like I use them for 5 seconds and it's like
"Ew."
See that's what im thinking too
I use joysticks cuz I tend to have a jackhammer button press when I play
d-pad, some games with joysticks is just unusable, mario maker with joysticks is close to unplayable for tighter levels

Also optional question: vertical or horizantal handheld?
Cuz I ALSO realized I prefer to have a console I can reallt grip my hands around and man handle
I think thats the reason I'm pretty happy with my 2ds. It's nice with my hands, and doesn't feel like it'll randomly fail on me lol
Im only asking this cuz due to me budget retro handheld searching, I realized how much I prefer a joystick on my console
For some reason, my jackhammer grip applies to D-pads too
So it tends to feel really jank playing with a D-pad for me lol
Are you more of a D-pad or Joystick/Thumbstick kind of person?
I know it's a "It depends" type deal but I'm speaking from a purely personal preference lens
