I am getting close to finishing a major commission, and am working on some others.
These days, I am basically always taking reserves for commissions, so please consider snagging a slot!
Yep. Ford represented a very specific kind of Being Cool By Being A Dipshit that used to be right at the heart of American pop-culture depictions of masculinity.
Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart both excelled at it.
I genuinely don't understand why ad blockers don't block these stupid things.

One encouraging theme in last night's NC primaries is the simple fact that being pro-trans is now like being anti-ICE among Dem voters: to them, it means you're a fighter, it means you're not giving into Trump.
That's a really, really good sign.
Of these?
2, without a doubt.
The βborder was messed upβ narrative is horseshit. @gallego.senate.gov is disingenuous. Demβs need to keep an eye on this snake. Side note, Tim Miller is a fucking Republican, why do we care what he has to say?

Platner literally had a Nazi tattoo and goes on Nazi podcasts to talk to Nazis and matty's incredibly flippant attitude about that should be enough to end his career
You cannot "yadda yadda" consorting with Nazis!

In all honestly, I highly doubt the vast majority of people even remember anything about the 08' food pyramid. I don't even remember it and I've been a political obsessive since I was in elementary school in the 80's.
I think people who are still concerned about some of this stuff are outliers.
In all honesty, probably yes?
As best I can tell, he wants something like Obama-era economic policy that might be a bit more market-friendly here and there, with a certain type of conservative shitposter vibe.
Insofar as it's even coherent.
At this point, I barely have any idea WHAT Matt Yglesias actually wants in terms of economic policy. He doesn't favor single payer, UBI, massive minimum wage increases, or safety net expansions. Or much in the way of regulation. But what he does want is...vague.
This is one of the more annoying things about the "popularists". They sometimes pay lip service to the vague idea of a candidate who appeals to the "working class" by embracing "economic populism"...but what they actually accept as far as econ. policy goes still tends to be fairly neoliberal-ish.

There's also no evidence that people actually follow the MAHA lifestyle or eating habits. I don't think that aspect of it is popular in a meaningfully durable way.
In fact, it's possible that "I want to make all the food you eat illegal" is one of the biggest vulnerabilities in MAHA ideology.
I outline how it might work in the subsequent posts, and I think that the short term political memory will work quite well to their benefit.
I also think that there is an inherent aversion to open, widespread bans of things, one that democrats can take advantage of.

A monster girl with black and gold-tipped ram horns poses in front of a menacing pink sun with birds, sparkles, and flecks of light in the background. She has yellow cat eyes and long, red hair partially cascading over one eye. She's wearing a black dress with giant gold loops at her waist and neck with roses imprinted on the fabric and clutching a transparent sarong coverup between her arms and behind her back. She has a flirty, mischievious expression and has several tattoos on her arms. The artwork is dark and broody with peeks of yellow rimlights shining through.

The growing influence and popularity of sites like polymarket is bad, but not just for the same mundane reasons that gambling is fairly bad and corrosive.
But an even bigger point of concern is the way that people in punditry seem to be viewing gamblers as people with some special insight.
Almost every page for the next issue of my comic has been colored.
There is a single, one-page backup comic that still needs to be finished.
Beyond that, it's time to start lettering. This is about 40 pages in all, and it will be text heavy. So still a fair amount to do.
1. In yesterday's primary elections, anti-transgender Democrats found out the hard way why you don't throw transgender people under the bus.
Two anti-trans dems lost their primaries, including one that cast the deciding veto override vote, in blowouts.

I'm not familiar with the actual sugar content, but I think that the details themselves don't even matter that much. The political framing on this should just be "MAGA wants to control what you eat, and we don't think they should get to control your life like that."
