bluesky is pretty much the only good platform out here, it truly is an island paradise in an ocean full of shit... you guys have a golden chance here, pls don't fuck it up by ignoring what we want🙏🏻🙏🏻

bluesky has never been in a better position, all its competitors are floundering - spoutible is basically dead on the floor, mastodon is full of paedos, threads is filled with right-wing bs and twitter is clearly on its way out...

it's only a few small things, in my mind group chats, bookmarks, drafts, priv accounts, automatic post threads, schedulers etc should all be simple things to add in, nothing more than a few weeks' work?? these are the things bluesky needs to survive, without them the people won't stay or come at all

i acknowledge what bluesky's doing but for now i feel they're going in the wrong direction, ik decentralisation is better long-term but rn most people don't care for that, i think they should first off cater for the people, give us all the basic twitter features and then focus on decentralisation

this thing has had over 2 years to get its shit together and it's only just delivering the basic things we need from a social media platform, if bluesky can't provide what so many people are used to then they'll just leave here and never come back and that'll be that

bluesky has a once in a lifetime opportunity to seize twitter's crown and become the undisputed king of the microblogging sites, its trajectory is certainly positive but we don't know how long twitter has left, if it dies soon bluesky needs to be ready to step up and i fear they're not ready at all

and again ik that bluesky's simply focusing on making itself sustainable long-term before adding more "quality of life" features like group chats, priv accounts, bookmarks, drafts etc but people are starting to move here seriously, if they don't start adding them soon it'll kill this app dead

i also know that due to the decentralised manner that bluesky exists in it's more difficult to make the features that twitter has, cuz the "fediverse" is all connected all platforms on it need to have the same features... i think the majority do tho so idk what the problem is

ok so the only reason i have this account is for it to hopefully become my priv one day, ik bluesky's entire premise is being an open social media platform but i think the majority of new users just want it to be like the other place but better 😭😭and that means having all the features it has sooooo
