The silent movie fandom has chilled out noticeably since the wild message board and blogger days and I wonder if part of it has to do with no more living stars.

Worship of the dead is always present in the fandom but a lack of living idols seems to have cut off some of the stranger behavior.

Fun fact about this photo. An hour or so before this photo was taken, my husband and a mutual friend of ours were eating breakfast with me in the hotel lobby. Mary Jo, Kevin, and Bill ended up being seated at a table next to ours. I struggled to convince myself not get up from our table and say hi.

A highlight in my life was meeting Mary Jo at a very small convention in RI. She, Bill, and Mike were as nice as I knew they'd be. Mary Jo liked my Leela cosplay so much that she took a photo of me with her phone. I'm humbled to this day!

Just watched @dumb-industries.com Mary Jo Pehl Show of the 1970s Dr Strange movie. I loved both the movie & MJP's commentary. It's so fun to see the dawn of Marvel movies, given how vast the MCU has become!
