I'm not really interested in spending 1000 hours wearing someone else's shoes. If I'm spending all that time, I want them to be mine.

Destiny nailed this after Halo leant further into it with each iteration.

I am excited by Marathon, but I really hope they reconsider the 'Hero' focus instead of giving players autonomy to create their own in-game identity.
