The car brained majority will move kicking and screaming to the freedom, but the alternative is truly toxic to everyone. Even those in vehicles

It takes courage to choose the latter but necessary towards moving any community to one that is more free for all its citizens.

Don’t let up these hard discussions will save lives, give more children and non drivers mobility freedom. These impacts will carry on for decades. People will quickly forget what was and happily accept the future.

Also easiest way to address that is income/wealth based ticketing.

Funny thing about speed cameras is they create a quite immediate surge in new revenue that quicks tappers of because “checks notes” people stop speeding

Let’s work to get them into neighborhood streets not just arterials.

Having just spent 10 days in New York City, staying inside the congestion pricing zone, there's no doubt how impactful these kinds of policies are for everyone. public transit, biking, and city streets all feel noticeably improved

See a whole lot of ped, bike, and Public Transit. Little car comments. Cars and the infrastructure that comes with them are are an exclusionary and regressive burned on society! We need to stop looking at transit through the “car brained lens”. Solutions to annoyed drivers are not car focused.

This is what makes the BCD such a hopeful place for Bend. More people living in that space makes it more lively.

If those in the system when confronted with data and strong evidence to do something a certain way resist that information, it should be seen as negligence.

Unfortunately I see that as just an excuse. Ha 7 pilots who all agree on the mission get a lot done. This is where I challenge us to find the why in what makes them not aligned. Which leads me back to the original question. Does the bureaucracy exist for bureaucracy’s? Sometimes that feels the case
