I have NEVER heard of a Canadian that was NOT permitted to register AND vote on election day.

It's really interesting to be back in Canada during a federal election (though just for a visit) compared to the recent US federal election: the campaign is so short (relatively) and the focus is so much more on issues >>>> personal attacks on the leaders (relatively).
