Hmmmmm. Very clever. I would be confused as to whether to feel sorry for them or flee. And that’s when they would get me.

Simply shameful work from the hands of those who do not know shame.

Agreed. We’re β€œwired” for community, but here in the US, we’ve deformed the understanding of our own needs.

There’s nothing wrong with being an individual, but we miss the fact that we don’t live independent lives - we are profoundly interdependent.

Our individualism has become our destruction.

Since learning new things (and the curiosity drive) share the same neural pathways as sexual pleasure, it would seem attractive to want to learn new things.

I simply don’t understand why so many are curiosity inhibited.

Is there a connection between despising learning and a deformed sexuality?

Everyone isn’t β€˜a little bit autistic’ – here’s why this notion is harmful This casual phrase might seem harmless but it misunderstands what autism really is and can do real harm to autistic people.

We can rethink our assumptions: β€œThe β€˜everyone’s a bit autistic’ myth can be actively harmful. It’s often used to dismiss the challenges we face or to argue that autistic people don’t really need support.” By @draimeegrant.bsky.social:

Right. But that is not the kind of dyeing of one’s beard I’m talking about here. Hell, if I want to - I’ll dye my beard fuchsia to entertain friends and family. That’s not feckless vanity, that’s entertainment. The motivation is entirely different.

So much of what we do in life is motivated by fear and anger. I get it.

Our ancestors rightly feared messing with cave bears. And we ought to be angry with those who kick us in the shin for no good reason.

My hope is you live long enough to be primarily motivated by a fearless love for others.

Mysteries of Life File no. 237:

Why do aging men put dye in their beards?

While I get the brazen vanity, I wonder if these dudes realize on any level - putting dye in one’s beard makes a man look wretched.

It doesn’t fool anyone, and it communicates to those who look at you that you’re fragile.

AOC: The math is not adding up. Their claim is that one million undocumented people are on Medicaid. So why are they trying to cut 13.7 million Americans off their healthcare?

Probably the best book I’ve seen on understanding the morphology of the MAGA thinking is Tom Nichols solid book; Our Own Worst Enemy.

Screaming in blind hatred at others is SO much more convenient than looking at oneself in the mirror.
