Education Is So Far Left, It Can't Really See the Right (Opinion) This past week, I've been struck by how differently things appear to me than to the vast majority of folks in education.

I ran into this article en passant, and it still seems appropriate now as a translation between the world in which many on the left (myself included) live, and the one in which everyone else lives.

This is obviously an unbelievable response on Trump's part-almost beyond words.

I keep wondering, though: is our reaction to this video how MAGA felt about "stand back and stand by" or even the speech at the J6 rally before the riot?

That's the key. I had a moment of realization a year or so ago when I needed an MRI close to end of year: couldn't get scheduled for like 6 weeks b/c so many people had met their deductibles and were actually getting healthcare. Comparable wait times to universal healthcare at that point.

People keep insisting it's just about Trump for the Dem, and I'm just like um, well the irony will be great and politics better, but jeez, justice.

Tho sounds like he mostly stored blackmail videos and they excluded videos/pics of CSAM, so not sure how much use this will be.

I think a lot of folks on the left could stand to read this as a reality check.

It's consistent with studies I've seen showing that political operatives-esp dems-have far more extreme views than voters.

Right now (as often in Utah politics) I really wish I could draw comics to do the message "when your actions run up against checks and balances the proper response is not to attempt to tear them down"

I guess I should use tags like I always forget to. #politics and #democracy and stuff.

So going forward can we try to remember that MOST people on the right aren't the idiots on social media, and make sure policy doesn't shove antithetical ideas down their throats like they've done to us?

The alternative is endless cycles of revenge, and I don't think anyone really wants that.

There are legitimate worries under the onion layers of hate Trump has fed in the right.

Pride and shame, to use terms from 'Stolen Pride' (highly recommend).

Addressing those concerns without condescension may go a long way.

There are real problems, and the left hasn't effectively addressed them.

Because they're not going away.

We're as stuck with them as they are with us.

If we keep doing the same things -charging forward with 100% dem agenda as soon as dems win and imposing that agenda on everyone -they'll feel like we do now.

There will be another Trump, and this will start over again.

Okay, can we talk about how the left (and I'm including most of bluesky) is still trying to pretend that if we ignore them and the problems that created them, angry Trump supporters will magically go away and let us make a sparkly globalist social democrat (or democratic socialist) paradise?

My spouse argues Trump is basically a stress test identifying all the loopholes, divisions and problems(govt, parties, whole shebang) that will need to be fixed in subsequent, more sane times.
