Some reviewer are failures themselves.
My colleague was told by Reviewer 2 to read a paper my colleague co-authored. However, my colleague had not written the recommended paper, nor had anyone else. It was an AI hallucination.
They reported Reviewer 2 to the editors of the journal.
"... have generative AI do research and generate the most beautiful and powerful outcomes. However, this has nothing to do with doing scientific research according to the methods we use to reach robust conclusions."
