We may not be in Texas, but we’re fighting for our constituents.
We’re not just fighting for Democrats — we’re fighting for Independents and Republicans too.
Because in a democracy, voters are supposed to choose their politicians — not the other way around.
Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton will try to arrest us.
So we’re traveling to Illinois for safe harbor.
We’ll be in the Land of Lincoln — the state where Abraham Lincoln broke quorum as a state senator in 1840 by jumping out of the window at the Illinois State Capitol.
But to pass these new maps, a certain number of legislators need to be on the floor to conduct business — a quorum.
My Democratic colleagues and I are not giving them one.
If they’re going to cheat, we’re not going to play.
Trump is worried he’s going to lose in 2026.
So to shield himself from the voters, he told Texas Republicans to redraw our state’s political maps — in the middle of the decade — to manufacture 5 new seats and protect their majority in Congress.
It’s cheating. Plain and simple.
My Democratic colleagues and I just left the state of Texas to break quorum and stop Trump’s redistricting power grab.
Trump is trying to rig the midterm elections right before our eyes. But first he’ll have to come through us.
It’s time to fight back.
Donald Trump is trying to rig the next election.
He told Republicans to redraw the political maps in Texas to give himself 5 more seats and protect his majority in Congress.
This is the rot at the core of our broken political system.

Host Stephanie Ruhle agrees: “He did more than hold his own… he was pretty impressive.”
Rep. @jamestalarico.bsky.social on Morning Joe:
“Before I went on Joe Rogan, I went on Fox News and the Christian Broadcasting Network.
We Democrats can’t be afraid of uncomfortable conversations with folks who may not agree with us yet.”
Once the first bar filled up, we filled up the bar across the street.
Thank you to rockstars @plesafortexas.bsky.social and Rep. Aicha Davis for joining me.
This is the energy we need.
I just held a rally in Plano, TX — a red part of the state — and 1,000 people showed up.
Many said it was their first political rally ever.
There’s something happening in Texas…

Billionaires are dividing us because our unity is a threat to their wealth and power.
I went on Joe Rogan’s show to bridge the divide and build a coalition big enough to take power back.
Tonight @jamestalarico.bsky.social packed a Houston event with hundreds of voters 16 months before Election Day.
This is the energy we need to take back Texas.
Senate Republicans just sold out the sick and the hungry to cut taxes for the rich and the powerful.
What would Jesus do about this “Big Beautiful Bill”?
I think he would flip over the tables of injustice and call on us to do the same.
The legislative session is over.
My little niece came to celebrate the last day with me.
Through victories and defeats, it’s an honor to fight for the future of Texas.
BREAKING: Texas Republicans just passed a major book banning bill.
They say it’s about protecting kids from “filth.”
But when I questioned the bill author, he admitted that it could ban classics like Romeo and Juliet, Catcher in the Rye, and Lonesome Dove.
I love the Ten Commandments.
I’ve tried to build my life on the Ten Commandments.
But forcing teachers to post the Ten Commandments violates the most important commandment: love thy neighbor.
Texas Republicans just passed a bill forcing every teacher to post the Ten Commandments in their classroom.
They passed it on the Sabbath… breaking the 4th Commandment.
Maybe they should try following the Ten Commandments before mandating them.
BREAKING: Texas Republicans just banned all weed products in the state of Texas — including edibles and Delta 8.
The Republican Party once stood for “liberty” and “small government.”
Now they’re the party of control.
Texas Republicans want to force every public school teacher to display the Ten Commandments in their classroom.
I asked the bill author a simple question: “Is there a separation of church and state?”
She refused to answer.
Our bipartisan movement is just getting started.
If they want to come for our Texas public schools, we have four words for them:
Come and take it.
I see the seeds of a new movement that’s not left vs right, but top vs bottom.
A movement that brings Texans together across partisan divides to take on Big Money and Big Lies.
Greg Abbott may have the money, but we have the majority.
The billionaires got their voucher bill.
But even in this defeat, I see glimmers of hope.
I see parents and teachers, Republicans and Democrats, rural, urban, and suburban Texans coming together to fight for our students.
Extremist school board candidates ran on culture wars: banning books, bullying students, and bashing teachers.
But they lost.
From Fort Bend to Fort Worth, pro-public education candidates won on a platform of supporting students and respecting teachers.

On Saturday, voters across the state headed to the polls to elect their local school boards.
Anti-public education groups like Moms for Liberty and Patriot Mobile — backed by the same billionaires — spent Big Money to try and buy those seats.
Last Saturday, they finally achieved their goal when Greg Abbott signed a voucher bill into law that will defund our neighborhood schools.
But as Abbott was clinking glasses with his billionaire mega-donors in the Governor’s mansion, something else was happening that same day…
