One factor that many games like DOOM and Celeste have is where you can tailor the difficulty to your liking.

Granted, the original Hollow Knight didn't have that: but it's a shame that Silksong doesn't.

The plot where a kingdom has fallen to ruin and riddled with disease wouldn't make sense of every enemy died in two hits.

If players want to experience the storyline to its max potential: then the difficulty should show them what that environment feels like.

People clown on Silksong for being more difficult than the original game, yet what none of them bother to mention is the storyline.

A game's difficulty must be reflective of its storyline, otherwise its consistency falls flat.
