I dreamed last night that loads of YouTube videos appeared with dead people passing on messages to their loved ones from heaven. Sadly my dog awoke me to tell me he badly needed a wee so I don't know how it ends. There's a film script in there somewhere.

The rat saga is finally over. Sadly, it did not end well. RIP.

I was musing about the Gasheads this morning and remembered I wrote a piece about Bristol Rovers for CA in 2004 which has some entertaining history stuff. Please can someone going tomorrow let me know if they still sing Goodnight Irene.

Your Uncle Mick once gave me advice. He said Donk, don't bother looking at the mantle piece when you're poking the fire. I feel I ought to pass this on to you.

I see a lot of younger people wearing what they apparently call chore jackets as fashion ware. Are donkey jackets back in as well?

Wife just set out for a charity shop trawl wearing my Vive le revoluçion Newell T shirt. Luckily it is raining so her coat conceals it. She, er, "likes it".

My rule of thumb in the very early 70s was if it was published by Picador I read it. Ditto Charisma and Island.

Went to the local fenland mini theatre to watch an afternoon film. Full of old people when we got there, many of whom on their second glass of wine. Pandemonium as they announce the server down and no film. we got the hell out of there. FAST.

Enjoyed the music accompanying Small Prophets so listened to the lady's most recent album. I like folk, and folk has evolved in some nice ways. But doom folk is too slow, too samey, too portentous for me. Shame.
