I really hope you get a positive response to that! Otherwise, reporting is a PITA, but can be worthwhile.

There's too much focus on the censorship, and fascism angle of this story, and not enough on the bribery, and oligarchy angle.

The merger should remain off the table. These companies are much too big already.

Highly recommend spending half an hour on this talk by @chrissimon.au on the bulshit that LLMs produce. Yup.

A) Mega-mergers are very bad, which is why they are illegal, and Nexstar, and Disney needed to bribe the FCC with the Kimmel cancellation to get around the legislated viewership cap.

B) Stop saying Kimmel called that guy MAGA. (He didn't).

C) Stop calling fascism "soft-fascism".

I was pre-soured. I didn't want a Carney gov't, and I mostly expected what we've gotten so far, but voted Liberal despite that.

Knowing that one way or the other we were getting a Con gov't, I just didn't want our Prime Minister to be an overt asshole.

Ford government to appeal court ruling which deemed bike lane removal unconstitutional | Globalnews.ca The Ford government's plans to tear out dedicated bike lanes from three Toronto routes has been deemed to be unconstitutional, halting a populist pledge driven by the premier.

"That's what drives me crazy. Because of ideology, they decide to put an injunction in." -- Doug Ford

He talks a lot about judges' "ideology" around bike lanes. I would like to hear Doug explain more about "ideology", and what it is that's driving his own obsession.

"Government documents released as part of the injunction hearing warned that removing the bike lanes may not ease congestion, and instead could increase the risk of collisions and negatively impact businesses."

Everything I know about Dรณnal Gill comes from his writing in this piece, but it's enough for me to hope he runs for NDP leadership.

AI regulation is a subject that desperately needs more attention.

1) Multi-user chat.
2) Not a Bluesky feature, but legislation forcing the big guys to use open protocols. Unrealistic? Probably, but that's the utopia I fantasize about.

What really stinks about this is that the ongoing problems appear to be server-side.

Serious question: Is there an active dev team who are going to spend real time looking at my transaction logs, and figure this out?

I don't mean to throw shade, but the state of the website makes me question.

Option A) Pay $4 to buy myself a new card at my GRT Ion stop.
Option B) Pay $4 for a GRT ticket to get to downtown Kitchener Customer Service Centre, to have them give me a replacement card.

I'm not sure why the Conestoga Station improvements by Grand River Transit (GRT) need to take 3 months, and I don't like how far from the Ion that they've moved the temporary bus station, but I love these signs all over the sidewalks.

Hey, Toronto Union Station! Take note!

The intentional deception is the National Liberal government naming their Bill C5, that dupes all of the policy, and problems of the Ontario PC government's Bill 5.

OMG. AI is as existential a threat as climate change, and we are at least a decade behind on needed regulations.

Being Canadian, it's not easy to know which movies are "R", but memories of having to sneak into a certain musician biopic when Canada's "R" was much stricter than U.S.A.'s was a big clue. Good times...
